Bill Cosby Sexual Assault Allegations

Statement Analysis of one of the victim's statement shows veracity and reliability.

We now learn that when asked on NPR radio, something generally considered favorable to Cosby, went unanswered by the actor.

This is similar to avoiding the question, indicating sensitivity.

This may be another example of a celebrity, so beloved by his fans, that fans "look the other way" at something so egregious as rape.

I encountered this on several occasions, over the years, in live trainings.  By my own observations, it seemed that a few Michael Jackson fans, female, and of an age where they would have loved his music/dancing during their teenaged years, struggled with the analysis.

This is a good reminder for all of us that we all share in the fragility of human nature.  It was concerning that in training investigators, some allowed personal feelings to interfere with analysis, yet it was encouraging to see others embrace the principles of analysis as true, while admitting that they wished it was not so for the victims of Michael Jackson.  Still others said that they would not allow it to "spoil" their love of his music.  This is something, for me, personally, that would be a challenge.

Better still is Heather's approach when she says, "Don't tell me about Bob Hope's private life; it will ruin the movies!"

Fans of Bill Cosby, particularly his "father figure" persona from "The Cosby Show" or fans of his humorous commentary on life, are faced with his silence in the face of the allegations.

His attorney called the allegations, "decades old", as if they ought to be dismissed due to the passage of time, as well as "discredited" which is to avoid saying "untrue."

The language of the victim was consistent and you can read the analysis and decide for yourself.

As to the NPR show:

"This question gives me no pleasure, Mr. Cosby, but there have been serious allegations raised about you in recent days," Simon said.
The transcript shows "[[SILENCE]]" from Cosby.
"You're shaking your head no," Simon continued. "I'm in the news business. I have to ask the question. Do you have any response to those charges?"
Later, Simon took to Twitter with this post: "He began to shake his head as soon as I began the sentence. We both -- we all -- knew what I was talking about."

The Letterman Show appears to have dropped Crosby from its schedule.

Barbara Bowman's statement with analysis is HERE.  This is particularly helpful for those who have requested more samples of truthful statements analyzed, and show what consistency and honesty in a statement looks like. Bowman alleged: 'I was drugged and raped by that man. He is a monster. He came at me like a monster.
'My hope is that others who have experienced sexual abuse will not be intimidated into silence by the famous, rich and powerful. If I can help one victim, then I've done my job.'

Keep a look out for the upcoming book on missing children, including Maddy McCann, Baby Lisa, and others of whom parents were not truthful...I'd love to hear from readers about a title.  Thanks in advance.

He is a monster. He came at me like a monster.

Monsters are scary to little girls. She can fight back now that she isn't as afraid of the monster as an adult. Good for her... may God take away all her pain.

"Over the last several weeks, decade-old, discredited allegations against Mr. Cosby have resurfaced. The fact that they are being repeated does not make them true.”

Talk about a passive statement! As if the accusations just rose with the morning mist and fell upon us! This robs the victims who are making the accusations of any identity, or even existence.

There is no denial, although they would like us to interpret the 'being repeated doesn't make it true' line as such.

Not for nothing cheif, but it doesn't make them false either! ;-)

With this select group of parents of missing children, perhaps an appropriate title would be -- "If Their Lips Are Moving, They're Lying".

I have also run into this just by commenting on it to family, friends and co-workers.

The thing that I have said to those that don’t believe it was this:

“Lets say the 40 year old man next door comes to your home and asks to have your 8, 9, 11 (etc) year old child come to his home for a sleep over. What would you say?’

Each responded with a “hell no”, “I would beat someone”, “I would be calling the cops” etc etc etc

To which I would respond, “so why exactly is it different with Michael, just because he is famous”?

Silence….

I then ask them, “do you have an alarm in your bedroom that will alert you when someone is coming close to your door?”

Everyone says no. Cause there is no reason.

When I tell them Michael had this…. many at that point then at least thought twice about it.

Bill Cosby is no different.

This is not about your job.

If priests will kill and molest, why would celebrities not be able to do the same thing.

People need to wake up and stop protecting people because they sing or act or stand in a church in the name of god.

It is time that everyone that kills, molests, beats, rapes is held accountable.

This is a growing list of guilty that are walking free and it is time for that to end.

Police need to do their job right.

Prosecutors need to do their job right.

What I found surprising is how long Bill Cosby's behavior has been going on. The latest accuser said it was 1969 when she was attacked. That is over 40 years ago and Bill Cosby was a young man in his 30's then. Why did no one speak out in all that time? Back then and for about 20 more years he was just the comedian Bill Cosby. He hadn't yet established himself behind the persona of Dr. Cliff Huxtable.

These were women, not young girls. That's why I can't accept the naivety of some of their explanations. What I find missing is their anger. Did not one of them throw a lamp, scream, scratch his face, call the police, file a complaint? Some were afraid and ashamed, but I think some sold their souls to the devil for fame and fortune. And I think some are now experiencing feelings of guilt because they didn't speak up and Bill Cosby was allowed to continue his behavior for a long period of time.

""and asks to have your 8, 9, 11 (etc) year""

The females were all 17 years of age and older, by law recognized as consensual adults

Also, except for one woman, ALL the women repeatedly refused to report the alleged crimes

Some had lawyers who told them they had to report the crimes to the police in order for any legal action to be taken

The one woman who reported the crime to the police conveniently reported the crime at too late a date after the crime, rendering a rape kit/medical examination futile, which is why the DA passed on the case: no medical proof, inability to describe Cosby's genitals, and maintained sexual relationship with Cosby despite alleged being raped translates to no evidence

If these women were drugged they were incapable of giving consent. If he had sex with them in that state, it's rape. Period. It doesn't matter why it has taken years for them to come forward, and not all of them did wait, the point is they HAVE come forward and it needs to be evaluated. At the very least he is of low-character and took advantage of them under the influence of drugs he provided! It is a law of nature that what one sows they must also reap. Bill Cosby is not exempt from that law. It's extremely rare for one to be falsely accused to the degree that many would like to believe.....

He may never be held accountable in a court of law, but he will be held accountable in the court of public opinion, as he should be.

Delivered through his attorney John P. Schmitt, a statement addressing the allegations read:

"Over the last several weeks, decade-old, discredited allegations against Mr. Cosby have resurfaced. The fact that they are being repeated does not make them true. Mr. Cosby does not intend to dignify these allegations with any comment. He would like to thank all his fans for the outpouring of support and assure them that, at age 77, he is doing his best work. There will be no further statement from Mr. Cosby or any of his representatives."

How would it be a problem for him to simply say - I did not rape any of these women? He is hiding behind that pompous facade of refusing to dignify the accusation with a response. If I were being falsely accused I'd be saying I did not do it, loud and proud!

What gets me is when people are being naive to the point where common sense should say "get out of there". Why would a man like Cosby at the height of his fame spend hours teaching a young nobody how to act better? I would immediately think he wants something for me that I don't want to give if I was in that situation. Same with MJ, but worse: HE hangs with you son while you enjoy Neverland. Why would he do that out of the kindness of his heart? People hide behind their own naivete in order to avoid responsibility. Yes, they are victims. But in order to prevent such future crimes, it is important to view such scenarios from all sides and teach the future generation to avoid being violated in the first place
