Note What One Does Not Think, Does Not Say...

Yoenis Cespedes discusses his first contract requirement
That which is stated in the negative is always very important.

It can often point to deception.

Truthful people tell us what they saw, what they said, what they thought, and so on.

Here is a recent example from New York Mets baseball player, Yoenis Cespedes, of whom Jerry Seinfeld wrote, "Cespedes for the Rest of Us."

Yoenis Cespedes discusses his first contract requirement

Yoenis Cespedes has the joy of six on his mind.
The Mets outfielder, who can become a free agent after this season, says he wants a new contract that will last at least six years.

“I’m not thinking about contract negotiations, but I do know that I will be looking for a contract that is six years or more. It has to be six years or more.

The Mets and Cespedes recently modified a clause in the player’s contract that said he had to be released five days after the World Series. The two sides are now allowed to negotiate throughout the free-agent signing period.
**************************************************************

Note that the subject introduces the topic of "contract negotiations" reporting what he is not thinking about.
One cannot introduce that which they are not thinking about unless one is thinking about it, putting the thought into language.

He reports what he is not thinking about but immediately gives details of what he is not thinking about.

Police have identified a young girl whose remains were found three months ago stuffed inside a rubbish bag on a Boston beach as Bella Bond.

The girl's mother and her live-in boyfriend have been charged, said a district attorney.

Prosecutor Daniel Conley told a press conference the boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, 35, was facing a count of murder.

The mother, Rachelle Bond, 40, was accused of being an accessory after the fact, Mr Conley added.

Both were arrested on Friday.

"It's a beautiful name, Bella," said Mr Conley, "and now we're going to do our very best to speak for her."

Bella, who had been dubbed Baby Doe by investigators, was found by a woman walking her dog on the shore of Deer Island, a peninsula in Boston Harbour, on 25 June.

A computer-generated image of the child, who is thought to have been about four years old, was posted on billboards across the state.

nvestigators were able to trace Bella to Boston by examining pollen gathered from her clothes.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker said child protection services had had previous involvement with the girl's family.

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) told the Boston Herald it investigated the mother's treatment of Bella twice before, in 2012 and 2013.

"DCF has not had an open case with this family for over two years, but did have brief involvement with Baby Bella as an infant," spokeswoman Rhonda Mann told the Herald.

"Our thoughts are with Bella's extended family as the investigation into her death continues."

The Boston Globe reports that state officials had previously removed two other children from the mother's care.

Local media report police went to an apartment building on Thursday in the city's Mattapan district to ask residents about a neighbour.

Residents said the woman had a young daughter whom they had not seen since the summer.

Siomy Torres, who lives next door, told the Globe there were "always guys in and out of the house".

"Half the time she was crying," Ms Torres said of the little girl.

Another neighbour, Yessiomora Torres, told WCVB: "She (the mother) tried to be responsible, but she was on drugs.

"She talked slurred, she'd come out and smoke a cigarette, her daughter would be crying."

Massachusetts House Speaker Robert DeLeo, whose district covers the area where Bella was found, said it was a "sad day".

I often say 'I don't think' - to express that I thought about something and concluded that's not what I agree with, not what I decided about it, or not what I think is right, or so, or not what someone else meant, etc. 'I'm not thinking' would be along the same lines? Not that he hasn't considered contract negotiations, more that he isn't considering any right at the moment because he is waiting for someone to offer a minimum six year contract, which he has already decided is the only type of contract he will be considering? An odd way of putting it, perhaps, as he didn't need to say he wasn't thinking about it - but I don't think it's an intention to deceive, more that he's not the best at communicating his thoughts, and this is his way of saying he has thought about it, and is only open to a six year contract.

So, would it have rung as a true statement for him to say, "I'm TRYING not to think about it.."

Massachusetts investigators remain tight-lipped as they seek a motive and cause of death in the case of a 2-year-old girl after a mother and her boyfriend were charged in the her death Friday.

The toddler was identified as Bella Bond on Friday, almost three months after her remains were found in a trash bag that washed up on a Boston Harbor Beach. Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley announced at a news conference he authorized a murder charge for Michael McCarthy, 35, and the girl’s mother, Rachelle Bond, 40, for accessory to murder after the fact.

However, Conley didn’t comment on how the young girl, who had no obvious signs of trauma to her body, died. He also declined to answer questions on a possible motive. “Why does anyone kill a 2-year-old child? What could she have done,” he asked.

Bella Bond, a chubby-cheeked, brown-eyed girl widely known as Baby Doe, had tugged the heartstrings across the country after authorities have urged the public’s help. Her image was seen by millions of Facebook users.

"At just shy of three years old, Bella Bond was a true innocent," Conley said at a news conference announcing the charges. "This child, whose very name means beauty, was murdered."

During the investigation, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created a composite image of what the girl might have looked like when she was alive. Within two weeks, the image had reached an estimated 47 million people on Facebook.

House Speaker Robert DeLeo, D-Winthrop, said Bond and McCarthy are blaming each other for the girl's death.

"It appears as though it was a situation of the boyfriend who was involved and apparently, I think, mother and boyfriend sort of blaming each other in terms of who harmed the child."

The Boston Globe reports Rachelle Bond told investigators that McCarthy had lashed out at the girl as being possessed or being a demon. She claims McCarthy punched Bella in the stomach until she went unconscious, the newspaper reports.

Conley said McCarthy was being treated for a medical condition at a Boston hospital unrelated to the case. Both Bond and McCarthy are scheduled to be arraigned Monday.

cont.

State child protection officials said they had contact with Bella twice, for four months in 2012 and three months in 2013. In both cases, officials described the involvement as “support for neglect,” and the cases were later closed.

Between 2001 and 2006, the Department of Children and Families terminated parental rights for two of her mother's older children. One of the children was later adopted by her maternal grandmother; the other was adopted by someone outside the family, DCF officials said.

The girl's body was found June 25 by a woman walking a dog. The Globe reports Bella's body was placed in a refrigerator before it was disposed of, according to officials briefed on the case said.

Despite the widespread publicity, a text tip line and billboards with the girl's image, investigators were frustrated for months as they tried to learn her identity. They got their big break after Boston police received a tip and a search warrant was executed Thursday at Rachelle Bond's apartment.

Bond had a history of drug and prostitution arrests.

On her Facebook page, she appears to be a doting mother, posting numerous photos of her daughter, who she calls "Bell" and "monkey."

On Sept. 15, 2014, a photo shows Bella wearing a tight-fitting, one-piece romper. "Look at my Bell," Bond wrote. "The outfit isn't supposed to be a catsuit ...Love her to death. I am on top of the world because of her. My life is complete again and worth living. I give her the world and more if I can..."

Conley said he received at least 10 offers from people who wanted to take care of the little girl's burial, including Cardinal Sean O'Malley.

Drug/mental health issues where a child is being accused of possession/being a demon - poor baby.

I haven't read the article or comments. I have been reading this blog for four years and believe in many aspects of statement analysis. Yet I have observed myself making truthful statements in the negative on many occasions. How can one distinguish between truthful statements in the negative and those which are deceptive? I feel that negative statements are sometimes expected! How do we promote the opportunity to issue a reliable denial so that we operate in a context when negative statements hold analytic value? I see the significance of a statement where no reliable denial is issued, but my automatic inclination is to state that "I never" did something when my actions are questioned. Can these types of statements alone indicate reliability?

Someone is setting him up for the big one. Hang on a sec. Isn't this the guy that broke into someone's house, planted AJ's jacket behind a lounge cushion and punched a dog? He set himself up for "the big one". Psychopath.
